We Launched Brainy in Jaipur. Hybrid Solar for Ordinary Homes.
Not a megawatt brochure. One clever hybrid box — and a dealer hall in Jaipur where I put it in their hands.

External media — EFY (10 Jul 2012): Su-Kam Brainy named; quotes Kunwer Sachdev on hybrid grid / solar / storage with solar dominant. EFY (16 Nov 2012): Brainy Hybrid UPS package launch + MD quote. Founder essay: Brainy Eco 1100.
Jaipur — 4 July 2012
Under my leadership as CEO & MD, Su-Kam launched Brainy — the Solar Hybrid Inverter — at a dealer event in Jaipur on 4 July 2012. I personally presented it to the Rajasthan dealer network. Same day: the Rajasthan dealer conference — product presentations, networking, the “Happy Selling!!” hall. That is the Facebook-archive spine on this site.
Hybrid meant what the name says: solar charging and grid backup in one domestic unit. Not a utility megawatt. A wall product dealers could sell into ordinary Indian homes when the grid was still the expensive default and solar was still the hard sell.
What EFY Put on Record — Hybrid (Not Microinverter Hype)
Six days after Jaipur, Electronics For You (10 July 2012) surveyed the solar-inverter market. Su-Kam’s named product was Brainy — “new age solar hybrid technology” for domestic use. I was quoted as managing director: hybrid systems utilise grid, solar or stored power to run any load, with solar the dominant source; that addresses the limits of pure on-grid and off-grid boxes.
The same piece also recorded Su-Kam’s software story — day charge / night backup modes, remote programming, user choice of battery vs direct solar for peak and off-peak. Microinverters appear in that article as an industry trend. We do not claim a Su-Kam microinverter launch from that page. Our claim is hybrid Brainy — and the quotes under my name.
In November, EFY covered the Brainy Hybrid UPS package — 850 VA UPS with in-built solar charge controller, panel and trolley — again quoting me on solar, wind and hybrids for semi-urban, rural and remote power gaps.
How Brainy Worked — Grid, Battery, Load
The product family kept the same diagram in dealers’ heads: grid in, batteries in series, house load out — and if mains failed, run the load on battery. Later Brainy S / PCU creatives made that diagram literal.
That is the same instinct I wrote later for Brainy Eco 1100: solar into an ordinary Indian home — one clever box that puts free solar first. Field proof on this site includes Anantnag hospital Brainy Eco. The engineering root goes back to hybrid solar-and-mains thinking from 2009.
Dealer Halls — Manthan, Mantra, Training
Jaipur was not the last time we put hybrid solar in front of the channel. Su-Kam Manthan halls and Mantra annual sales meets were how we kept launching and training — packed banquet rooms, twin screens, yellow Su-Kam Solar banners, me or the team on the mic. Caption them honestly: channel culture under my leadership, not a claim that every photo is 4 July 2012.
What I Want on Record
Kunwer Sachdev — CEO & MD of Su-Kam. Launched Brainy solar hybrid inverter to Rajasthan dealers in Jaipur, 4 July 2012 (Facebook archive + same-day dealer conference). EFY (10 Jul 2012) named Brainy and quoted him on hybrid grid / solar / storage; EFY (16 Nov 2012) covered the Brainy Hybrid UPS package. Product idea: solar-first domestic hybrid UPS / PCU for ordinary homes — later Brainy Eco / Hybrid-GTI creatives and dealer Manthan/Mantra training under the same leadership. Microinverters in the July EFY piece are industry context, not a Su-Kam microinverter claim.

FAQ
What was the Brainy launch in Jaipur?
On 4 July 2012 Su-Kam launched Brainy — the Solar Hybrid Inverter — at a Rajasthan dealer event in Jaipur. Kunwer Sachdev, then CEO & MD, personally presented the product to the dealer network. The same day the Facebook archive records the Rajasthan dealer conference (“Happy Selling!!”).
What did contemporary press say?
Electronics For You (10 July 2012) named Su-Kam’s Brainy as new-age domestic solar hybrid technology and quoted Kunwer Sachdev on hybrid systems using grid, solar or stored power with solar dominant. EFY (16 November 2012) covered the Brainy Hybrid UPS package launch with a further MD quote on solar, wind and hybrids for power-scarce areas.
What is Brainy as a product?
A domestic solar hybrid UPS / PCU idea: solar charge controller + inverter + grid charging in one box, preferring solar to run the load and charge the battery, falling back to grid when needed. Later Brainy Eco / Brainy S / Hybrid-GTI creatives carried the same solar-first home story. Founder essay: KunwerSachdev.com on Brainy Eco 1100.
Did Su-Kam claim microinverters in that EFY piece?
No. The July 2012 EFY article explains microinverters as an industry trend. Su-Kam’s named product in that piece is Brainy hybrid — not a microinverter launch.
How did dealers learn the product?
Jaipur launch and the same-day dealer conference were the Rajasthan channel moment. Archive photos from Su-Kam Manthan halls, Mantra annual sales meets, and roundtable trainings show the ongoing pattern: present the product, train the channel, put yellow solar flyers on the table — “one stop solution for all your solar needs.”
