Kunwer Sachdev was the first Indian entrepreneur to patent in the power-backup industry. This is the complete, independently verifiable record — every application number, title and status drawn from the official Indian Patent Office register.
For most of India's power-backup industry, innovation meant copying. Kunwer Sachdev took the opposite path: he treated every product as something to be invented, engineered, protected and shipped. Beginning in 2003, Su-Kam Power Systems filed patents at a pace no Indian power-electronics company had attempted before — DSP sine-wave inverters, MPPT solar charge controllers, hybrid solar PCUs, battery-management and energy-saving systems — building one of the largest patent portfolios in the sector.
That habit of invention did not stop with Su-Kam. As mentor and product-strategy lead at Su-Vastika, the same approach continues today in lithium energy storage, BESS and IoT-based solar-hybrid technology — with patents granted as recently as 2022–2024, two of them filed in Kunwer Sachdev's own name.
Every entry below can be checked. Su-Kam and Su-Vastika filings are searchable on the Indian Patent Office portal by application number; the granted Su-Vastika patents each carry an official IPO certificate. As a worked example, patent 403377 was confirmed end-to-end on the IPO register — status reading "Granted Application, Patent Number: 403377," with its full document trail on file. Google Patents indexes only a few of these (it does not carry Indian Patent Office filings as a rule), so the authoritative source throughout is the Indian Patent Office itself.
How to verify: search any application number at the Indian Patent Office public search portal (Patent Search or Application Status). Granted Su-Vastika patents also link to their official IPO certificate. A few Su-Kam patents additionally appear on Google Patents (marked “GP”).

the new ownership did not pay renewal fees or pursue the pending applications, so the granted patents have
