Recovered Su-Kam archive Solar Village & CSR September 2009

About this page — a recovered blog post from the Su-Kam era, originally published on blog.su-kam.com during Kunwer Sachdev's tenure as Founder & MD. The original blog was lost after Su-Kam's insolvency; this page is reconstructed from the Internet Archive and preserved as a historical record.

Su-Kam's Corporate Social Responsibility

From its earliest days, Su-Kam folded social responsibility into its business model. This 2009 post documented initiatives to bring power to underserved communities, support education and enable rural development through technology.

For a power company, the most meaningful CSR was its core product: electricity where there was none. That instinct later scaled into the 40,000-home Solar Village project and relief work after disasters.

It reflects how Kunwer Sachdev framed Su-Kam — not as charity bolted onto a business, but as a business whose products did social good by design.
