Recovered Su-Kam archive Guides & How-To 2016

About this page — a recovered blog post from the Su-Kam era, originally published on blog.su-kam.com during Kunwer Sachdev's tenure as Founder & MD. The original blog was lost after Su-Kam's insolvency; this page is reconstructed from the Internet Archive and preserved as a historical record.

Be Careful: 6 Myths About Inverter Batteries

The battery is the part of a power-backup system most likely to be misunderstood — and mistreated. Su-Kam's blog corrected six common myths.

Among them: that any battery works equally well with any inverter (matching matters); that batteries need no care (water top-up and ventilation extend life); that a bigger battery always means better backup (it must be matched to the inverter and load); that fast charging is always good (it can shorten life without the right charging profile); and that all brands are interchangeable. Su-Kam's batteries paired with its Battery Management System and Automatic Temperature Compensation precisely to counter these issues.

Getting battery care right was the single biggest lever on backup performance — which is why Su-Kam kept teaching it.
