Recovered Su-Kam archive Solar Installation 2016

About this page — a recovered blog post from the Su-Kam era, originally published on blog.su-kam.com during Kunwer Sachdev's tenure as Founder & MD. The original blog was lost after Su-Kam's insolvency; this page is reconstructed from the Internet Archive and preserved as a historical record.

Jaipur Family Installs Solar After Seeing Neighbour's Benefits

Mangyawas village, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Mr. Sunil, in Village Mangyawas near Jaipur, had no electricity at home. Then he saw what solar had done for his neighbour — light, fans, a charged phone — and installed his own Su-Kam system.

This is the quietest and most powerful kind of solar marketing: word of mouth. In rural India, one working installation on a neighbour's roof did more to convince a family than any advertisement could.

Multiply that across thousands of villages and you get the grassroots adoption curve Kunwer Sachdev was betting on — solar spreading household by household, on proof rather than promises.
