Su-Kam Power Systems Forms JV with Kohler Power Systems
In 2012, Su-Kam signed a joint venture with US-based Kohler Power Systems — a Fortune 500 name — bringing a co-branded range of diesel and gas gensets to the Indian market.
Under the agreement, Su-Kam marketed and distributed generators built at Kohler's Aurangabad plant: diesel sets from 2.5 to 12.5 kVA and gas sets at 14 and 20 kVA, designed to pair with inverters and solar for hybrid backup — an attractive option for buildings already running on solar power.
For an Indian power company, a tie-up with a global Fortune 500 manufacturer was a powerful validation of the brand and technology Kunwer Sachdev had built — and a step deeper into hybrid power, bridging fossil-fuel backup and clean solar.
It remains one of the clearest external markers of Su-Kam's stature at its peak.
