At the second annual conference on rooftop solar in India, held at The Leela Palace in New Delhi in March 2015, Kunwer Sachdev took the stage to name three problems holding back the industry.
As the MD of a company already shipping solar PCUs and hybrid systems at scale, he spoke from the factory floor rather than the podium — on policy friction, financing gaps, and the quality and standardisation issues that eroded customer trust.
By 2015 Kunwer was a recognised industry voice; that year he was also named EY Entrepreneur of the Year, among other honours.
The talk is a snapshot of an inventor-entrepreneur pushing the whole sector to mature — not just selling his own products.
