ITM’s Car Park Became a Solar Shed. Manesar’s Polymer Roof Was Next on the Same Leaf.

Under my watch as CEO & MD — one Energetica Haryana leaf named both: ITM University’s parking carport at 150 kWp, and Rani Polymers in Manesar at 135 kWp.

By Kunwer Sachdev · CEO & Managing Director, Su-Kam (at the time) · Founder 1988–2018 · Published September 28, 2026 · Historical era: Energetica 21 Aug 2015 · FB WW Jan 2018

Media — Energetica India, 21 Aug 2015 (Wayback): 150 kWp in ITM University parking, Sector 23 Gurgaon; ongoing 135 kWp at Rani Polymers, Manesar. MD quote from me. NCN + brochure corroborate ITM. Campus (NorthCap / ex-ITM) blog + energy page confirm 150 kW parking / net metering (Su-Kam not named there). FB #WednesdayWisdom 24 Jan 2018 later: Manesar polymer running on solar.

A Car Park That Earned Its Keep Twice

Under my leadership as CEO & MD, Su-Kam did not only put panels on rooftops. At ITM University, Sector 23, Gurgaon, we turned the parking area into a solar shed — shade for cars, power for the campus, double use of the same square metres.

Energetica India (21 August 2015) is specific: 150 kWp in the parking area; about 2.12 lakh units a year; about ₹12.72 lakh savings a year. The university had been burning a heavy electricity bill. The carport cut that load in daylight hours while students and staff parked underneath.

Our brochure kept the same line: “150 KWp Powering ITM University in Gurgaon with Solar Power.” NCN’s later HUDA metro piece repeated ITM parking 150 kWp on the Gurgaon scoreboard. My own project essay still says it simply: a car park became a solar shed.

The campus itself — later The NorthCap University (formerly ITM) — corroborated the plant without naming the vendor. Their 23 October 2015 blog said a modern 150 kW system with net metering was underway at the University parking area. Their live energy-conservation page still cites a 150 kW rooftop / parking net-metered plant — about 350–400 units/day, roughly ₹78–80 thousand a month saved. Su-Kam’s name sits in Energetica, NCN, and the brochure; the campus pages lock the 150 kW parking story in place.

Same Leaf — Rani Polymers, Manesar, 135 kWp

That Energetica Haryana article did not stop at campuses and co-ops. Among on-going jobs it named 135 kWp at Rani Polymers, Manesar, Gurgaon — and 65 kWp at Jagatjeet Industries in Gurgaon. That is the press name and capacity for the Manesar polymer industrial roof.

On 24 January 2018 the Su-Kam page put the same industrial belt into #WednesdayWisdom: a top polymer company in Manesar, Gurugram, running on solar. The FB creative does not print a kilowatt figure or the company name — channel language for dealers. Read against the 2015 Energetica leaf, the named capacity for that Manesar polymer job is Rani Polymers — 135 kWp (listed as ongoing in August 2015; the 2018 post presents the plant as running).

What I Said in That Press

Energetica quoted me as Managing Director: uninterrupted power for an emerging India; solar as the right source; to make Haryana a solar state was the aim of these initiatives. Same article lists the completed / allotted Gurgaon map under a SECI frame: SBA 100 kWp, IFFCO 150 kWp across two sites, ITM parking 150 kWp — plus the ongoing industrial line that includes Rani Polymers.

On the Gurgaon Scoreboard

Companions already live: SBI Academy ~100 kWp, EIL ~90 kWp, IFFCO HQ aesthetics, NHPC Faridabad ~70 kWp, HUDA City Centre metro RESCO. This page is the campus carport + Manesar polymer leaf of that same Haryana push.

What I Want on Record

Kunwer Sachdev — CEO & MD of Su-Kam. ITM University, Gurgaon: 150 kWp parking carport / solar shed — Energetica + NCN + brochure. Rani Polymers, Manesar: 135 kWp on the same Energetica ongoing list; later #WednesdayWisdom that Manesar polymer was running on solar.

FAQ

What did Su-Kam install at ITM University, Gurgaon?

A 150 kWp solar plant in the parking area of ITM University, Sector 23, Gurgaon — a carport / solar shed over the car park. Energetica India (21 Aug 2015) cites ~2.12 lakh units per year and about ₹12.72 lakh annual savings. Su-Kam’s brochure line: “150 KWp Powering ITM University in Gurgaon with Solar Power.” The campus (later The NorthCap University) independently describes a 150 kW parking / net-metered plant — without naming Su-Kam.

What is the Rani Polymers Manesar project?

The same Energetica Haryana article lists among ongoing jobs “135 KWp in Rani Polymers, Manesar Gurgaon.” That is the named polymer industrial leaf for Manesar. On 24 Jan 2018 Su-Kam’s #WednesdayWisdom celebrated a top polymer company in Manesar running on solar (creative; no kW on that FB post). This page keeps both: press name + capacity, and the later FB channel post.

Did Kunwer Sachdev speak in the press?

Yes. Energetica quotes him as Managing Director on Su-Kam’s aim to help make Haryana a solar state — same article that details ITM parking 150 kWp and lists Rani Polymers Manesar 135 kWp as ongoing.

How does this sit with other Gurgaon / Haryana Su-Kam jobs?

Same Aug 2015 scoreboard as State Bank Academy 100 kWp, EIL 90 kWp, NHPC Faridabad 70 kWp, and 150 kWp across two IFFCO sites — under his watch as CEO & MD. NCN’s later HUDA metro piece repeats ITM parking 150 kWp in the Gurgaon roll-up.

Is ITM Gurgaon the same as later ITM University Gwalior solar docs?

No. Do not mix Sector 23 Gurgaon / Gurugram carport press (ITM → The NorthCap University) with later Gwalior campus energy audits (different campus, different vendors/capacities).
